Developmental Assessments are performed to determine whether one has significant delays in their language, motor skills, and nonverbal reasoning skills. The purpose of these evaluations is to determine recommendations which would help support the development of any specific delays.
Cognitive assessments are performed to help determine one’s intelligence or cognitive ability. They are typically performed to provide an in depth perspective into one’s cognitive capacity and to rule out an Intellectual Disability. Generally, they involve the administration, scoring, and interpretation of cognitive and adaptive measures.
